OUA - Ontario University Athletics Swimming

The OUA is the largest university swimming conference in Canada, governing varsity programs across Ontario. It is one of four conferences under the U Sports national umbrella.

What is the OUA?

Ontario University Athletics (OUA) is the governing body for university sport in Ontario. It is the largest of the four U Sports conferences, with the most member institutions and the highest number of varsity swimming programs.

OUA Championships

The OUA Swimming Championships are held annually in February, typically over three days. The meet uses a prelims-and-finals format. Both individual and relay events are contested. Teams accumulate points and overall team champions are crowned. Top performers qualify for the U Sports national championships.

September: Preseason training and tryouts. October-November: Dual meets and invitationals. December: Exams and winter training. January: Last chance meets and qualifying. February: OUA Swimming Championships. March: U Sports National Championships for qualifying swimmers.
